Summer School takes place annually in June at Gordano scout camp just outside Bristol. Training takes place outdoors over three days from Friday evening to Monday afternoon. On Sunday afternoon Nidan candidates attempt their ’30 man fight’ with others going for full black belt, plus all grades from red belt up to Shodan Ho grading on Monday afternoon. Shihan Lewis, Shihan Mulholand and Sensei Powell are regular instructors with the addition of a number of guest instructors each year.
Students from Bristol, Portishead, London, Braunton, Torquay, Norway, Sweden, Cyprus and a few others from far flung places descend on sunny Portishead for Summer School. It is the highlight of the DKK calendar and is great to be a part of.
Summer School 2016 will take place on the weekend of 18th-19th June.
