Summer School is and will remain the cornerstone of our years training, culminating in the Black Belt gradings for the year. This makes it not only a fantastic event which people travel back to from all over the world, but also an intense and for some, highly pressured event. Winter School is not like that.
Winter school is a much more chilled out event than Summer School – no gradings (well almost), no beastings (well almost), and no pressure (well almost) – just a time where we can get together for a weekend of karate, a bit of a drink, and a bit of a laugh.
Winter School 2024 will take place on the weekend of 25th - 27th October

How would I describe my first Winter School?
An honour to watch and cheer on Darren earn his Nidan, hard work, amazing fun, great to get to know new people and catch up with others. So many new techniques to practise and try and remember. Really enjoyed the session on dojo etiquette, James talk on gi's, the trek in the woods, finding the ancient oak and tree hugging with our team. Singing around the fire, starting the fire, the warm saki, the friendship, working together as a team and so many other things. The first thing Ross and I did after unpacking the car was to get out the Sai's and try and go through the kata! Could not remember it all however. Not as much space in the living room but we did not damage anything or ourselves. Thanks everyone for making it such a fantastic weekend.
